2014 - credits




Grandmaster M R Venkatesh (BPCL) with 8.5 points won the 66th Birthday celebrations of "Thanga Tharagai" Puratchi Thalavi AMMA Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu lightning chess tournament that concluded at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Chennai here today.



The nine round lightning event attracted 1035 entries including nine Grandmasters, 12 International Masters among 32 FIDE titled players.

Back in action (2013)

After seven  months of break, Sunyuktha played in CM Cup Kanchi District Tournament and won the 4th place out of 350 participants (Open), however she finished first in girls section with a score of 8/9. 

She is selected along with other 9 members to participate in state level CM Cup.

Slovenia Trip - 2012

Sunyuktha represented India in the world Youth Chess Championship 2012 (Under 12 Girls) held at Maribor,Slovenia (Europe), between Nov 8th to 19th 2012.

She scored seven points out of 11 rounds with 5 wins, 4 draws and 2 loss

Sunyuktha Credits 2012

The Asian Youth Chess Championship 2012 was held 24 June – 2 July 2012 in Hikkadua, Sri Lanka with 310 players from 19 countries competing in Blitz, Rapid and Standard Chess events.


The Rapid Tournament 7 round Swiss System was held 25th June while the 7-round Blitz Tournament was held 1st July 2012 and the 9-round Standard Chess from 26th June to 1st July.

India topped five other countries which won gold medals.



Sunyuktha won team gold in all the three categories (Rapid, Standard and Blitz) and two bronzes (Rapid and Standard) in individual.
 
This is the first visit outside the country for her. she displayed lot of confidence and enthusiasm to perform well. 
 
Hope she prepares well and perform in the coming World youth championship at Slovania in November2012

Sunyuktha Credits - 2011




Particpated in National Under 11 in Ahmedabad in June11 and played consistently well. She has not lost any game in this tournament.




Total participants 104.


She won the third place with 8.5 /11 (six wins, 5 draws)


Top seed Savant Riya of Goa lost to Sunyuktha in this tournament



In the girls section the leaders were switching till the final round.


In a dramatic final round games, Savant Riya quickly won against Anjali Manoj of Kerala on3rd board ,Vaishali outplayed Tejaswini on the 1st board & Sunyuktha of TN drew with Hilmi.


In a 3 way tie with 8.5 Savant was declared Champion with a better tie break scored ahead of Vaishali and Sunyuktha of TN and were placed respectively.


The tournament was played in an excellent air conditioned hall which overshadowed the scorching heat in the city. Parents and coaches were provided with adjacent A/c hall to spend their time, while the kids were battling it out. Each round was inaugurated by guests of the day
which included the directors of Karnavati Club, WFM Dhyani Dave & Fenil Shah , former U11
National champion. Top ten games in boys and six games in the girls section were telecast live
through the Monroi system, a special instrument procured by the All India Federation for
transmitting the games online. The organisers Vinay Parikh & Mayur Patel did an excellent job
in making this event a memorable one. On the final day Prizes were distributed by Ajay
Patel, Rakesh Shah, Vinay Parikh, Mayur Patel, Nitin Shenvi, Sourav Mehta and Mr Ashok from
Karnavati club. In each category along with cash prizes for first ten players trophies were
distributed.
